Conor Oberst paints the big picture in this one, illustrating the often meaningless and repetitive circles one can undergo in life. A genuine self-reflection, working with lyrical contrast. A somehow scary song, that impresses me with its very honesty and bluntness.

Angelo Badalamenti – Twin Peaks Theme
This song just get’s to me with the very first tone. You are immediately finding yourself in this mysterious world full of bizarrness and soothing well-being at the same time. I am highly recommending to put this record on with every year’s first falling leaf.

The Kills – No Wow

Titletrack „No Wow“ of the Kills’ second LP bares a very raw immediacy, which is characteristic for the whole record. You can feel the heart thumping in this track, the tempestuousness and interpersonal tension make a striking listening experience leaving you stunned after just 4 minutes.

Lana Del Rey – Born to Die

The opening and title track of Lana Del Rey’s second studio album. A powerful song and a tribute to true love as well as chasing your wildest dreams. The sound landscape and lyrical genius in this one is just exceptional. For me, Lana is queen.
