5 Songs… Julie Doiron (ex-Eric´s Trip)
Hi Everyone,
I always have a hard time deciding things like this because there are so many beautiful and amazing songs in the world. Well, here are some pics for now…
The Ecstasy of Gold – Ennio Morricone
This piece of music gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. EVERY time. It just builds and builds and builds! So much happens in such a short period of time. I cry almost every time I hear it.
Hard on You – Daniel Romano
There is something about this song that makes me feel so many feelings. It is a perfectly crafted song and I seem to have such a personal connection with it. Sometimes I feel like it was written for me…
The Beast in Me – Nick Lowe
Honestly, I first became aware of this song because when my partner and I first started dating, he wanted to hear me perform it. And really, it is such a beautiful song. Such a sweet contrast between the softness of the music and the darkness of the lyrics.
I don’t always Know what you’re Saying – Ladyhawk
Ladyhawk is one of my most favourite bands! Seeing them perform live is so much fun and this song just makes me want to jump up and sing along so loud!! This song has the ability to also give me goosebumps. All of the stuff going on in this song has the most powerful effect on me. This song on the stereo was how I started my drives during many, many tours!!
Birds and Bees – Snailhouse (Michael Feuerstack)
I can actually imagine birds and and bees in slow motion . I feel like I am floating above a field in slow motion. Just on my own with the sky and my emotions. And the idea of beating hearts of course . This song has all I need to remember that I am alive.
