5 Songs… Jeremy Cunningham (The Levellers)
„Heart of gold” – Neil Young
From political pre-punk to rip u heart out love song, he’s got it all. But above all its honesty – you know he means it man!
„By the time I get to Arizona” – Public Enemy
Best bass ever! The black mans clash. Awesome lyrics/challenging music. Full commitment stuff. Don’t get better than that! Chuck D asked the Levellers to support Public Enemy in the U.S. Having played festivals in Europe together the year before. Unfortunately their audience not understand our acoustic guitars! Haha…Didn’t go well for us. But cudos to the band. Every time!
„London calling” – The Clash
Probably the biggest single influence on our band. Incisive lyrics and progressive music, super-energetic live shows.
„Time for heroes” – The Libertines
Best british guitar band of their era. Poetry and punk, live in the studio recording – what you see is what you get. Gotta respect that!
„Tod the ranter” – Mc Dermotts 2 hours
Another formative influence on our band and pretty much the guys who introduced us to the power of acoustic and folk music.
